This year, we wish to celebrate Venerable Nirodha’s life of generosity and compassion by giving to charity in her honour.
How We Plan to Celebrate
On 9 April, we will be sponsoring breakfast at Ronald McDonald House, supporting families with children who are ill or injured. This offering will provide a warm meal for all families staying there on that day.
We also plan to contribute items to the Hospitality Cart at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. These carts provide essential items and small gifts at no cost to children and their families.
During long hospital stays, even small moments of comfort can make a meaningful difference. The Hospitality Carts bring care and kindness directly to the bedside, offering support, connection, and relief to paediatric patients and their families. We hope to contribute items from their current wish list.
How You Can Join the Celebration
You are warmly invited to contribute by:
- Donating funds to help cover the cost of the sponsored breakfast and Hospitality Cart items (via the Santi Forest Monastery general expense account), and
- Sending an email to santimonastery@gmail.com with your donation details and a birthday message. Your message will be included in a card we are preparing for Venerable Nirodha.
In addition, the nuns are exploring the opportunity to offer a session on mindfulness and meditation for paediatric patients, their families, and staff at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. We will keep you updated as plans develop.
