As well as practicing to extinguish the internal fires of greed, hatred and delusion – as Santi borders onto Morton National Park, external bushfires are also a risk for the monastery.

As such, the NSW RFS (New South Wales Rural Fire Service) has recently visited Santi on several occasions.

Their visits have included consult and advice regarding the monastery’s Bush Fire Plan along with key existing facilities and familiarising themselves with the property in case of a bushfire emergency.
