All are welcome to come and celebrate the Kathina alms offering day with us at Santi this year, on Sunday 20th October, starting at 10am.
While the word ‘kathina’ actually refers to a type of wooden frame used to make robes in the time of the Buddha, the Kathina season (the month following the monastic rains retreat period) has become a traditional time for Buddhist laity to express their gratitude to the Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha by offering requisites and other support for the sangha and the monastery. It’s a very special occasion for coming together as a community to both recollect and generate the blessings of the Triple Gem.
We look forward to seeing you there. (See program here…)
