\"bhikkhu-sangha\"The three Bhikkhunis who had been \u201cOrdained on One Side\u201d by the Bhikkhuni Sangha earlier this month, presented themselves to the Bhikkhu Sangha headed by Ajahn Brahmavamso at Bodhinyana Monastery on Sunday 18th of September for confirmation and completion of the ordination process. Ayya Vajira, Ayya Dhammavati and Ayya Santacari received ordination from the Bhikkhu Sangha with Ajahn Brahmali acting with Ajahn Brahmavamso as Kammavacacariyas [speakers of the action to ordain]. Bhikkhu Nitho, Bhikkhu Kassapa, Bhikkhu Sunno and Bhikkhu Nibbuto, were the witnessing Bhikkhus, making a Sangha of 6 Bhikkhus to perform the ordination. Five being the minimum number of Bhikkhus to perform a \u201cSangha Kamma\u201d ie to enact a \u201clegal act\u201d of the Sangha.<\/p>\n

\nIn a quiet ceremony attended by only the few residents of the monastery and neighbouring Jhana Grove, the \u201cone sided\u201d Bhikkhunis waited to be called over by the Bhikkhu Sangha with a feeling of reverent gladness.\"bowing\"<\/p>\n

The three bowed their respect to the Bhikkhu Sangha and then in joyous union chanted the Pali formula to request the Upasampada higher ordination from the Bhikkhus.
\nAjahn Brahm and Ajahn Brahmali then chanted the motion to ordain to the \"requesting3\"Bhikkhu Sangha in unison three times, the motion to grant the ordination.\"requesting\"<\/p>\n

The ordination was granted, with the consent of the witnessing Bhikkhus.
\n\"the-motion-is-spoken\"And with this, the Ordination was complete! Three new Fully Ordained Bhikkhunis are born into the Sangha of the Blessed One. We are all blessed by this event which enriches\"requisites\" the entire fourfold Sangha.<\/p>\n

Then the three newly ordained Bhikkhunis were given an explanation of the support requisites they can expect followed by a short
\nexposition of the Dhamma about the purpose of the Holy Life. This was first chanted in Pali then taught in English, encouraging the Bhikkhunis to make use of the Holy Life to seek liberation and Nibbana.\u00a0What a treat to have a personal Dhamma talk from Ajahn Brahm!<\/p>\n
