This powerful symbol denotes the &#8216;turning of the wheel of  Dhamma&#8217; &#8212; the first teaching of the newly awakened Buddha given to the  group of five disciples, its eight spokes representing the Eightfold Noble Path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This beautiful offering was made to Santi by Sam and Shashika Wakista and family, who devotedly had this <br>1.2 mtre special design of the Dhammacakka made up by a local craftsperson and brought it to Santi on the Vesak weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/santifm.org\/santi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/DC4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8213\" width=\"357\" height=\"452\" srcset=\"https:\/\/santifm.org\/santi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/DC4.jpg 441w, https:\/\/santifm.org\/santi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/DC4-237x300.jpg 237w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 357px) 100vw, 357px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just a few days later our local builder, Patrick Fitzgerald, was able to mount the wheel securely.
