The reason we emphasise cooked food (as opposed to raw food) is that during Vassa, activity is minimised, and energies are devoted to meditation. Receiving cooked food means less time in the kitchen and more time on the cushion.<\/p>\n<p>Fourteen people including seven monks and nuns will be in residence at Santi during the 2011 Vassa<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in contributing meals during this period there are two options.<\/p>\n<h3>1. Coming to Santi \u2013<\/h3>\n<address>A good option if you would like to prepare a meal and personally bring it to Santi.<\/address>\n<p>Step 1 \u2013 Go to our \u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/calendar\/embed?height=600&amp;wkst=1&amp;bgcolor=%23FFFFFF&amp;src=a73labc295oc0h6d9u8kr2b334%40group.calendar.google.com&amp;color=%23B1440E&amp;ctz=Australia%2FSydney\">Dana Calendar<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0to find a free date.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Step 2 \u2013 Book your chosen date and other details by either:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<address>filling in online dana form (see below);<\/address>\n<address>or<\/address>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<address>emailing us your name, phone, preferred date and quantity of food you will bring;<\/address>\n<address>or<\/address>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<address>phoning us and asking for Kitchen Manager<\/address>\n<address><span style=\"font-style: normal;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/address>\n<address><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">Step 3 \u2013 Come to Santi by 10:30am so that food can be offered at 11:00am.<\/span><\/address>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2.
