Māgha Pūjā Day

The Nuns of Santi Forest Monastery warmly welcome you to our special program on the 9th of February.

Māgha Pūjā or Four-Fold Assembly Day  commemorates the full moon of February when the Buddha gave a summary of the teachings to a group of 1250 enlightened beings who had gathered on that day of practice and observance.

The full moon of February is also remembered as the lunar anniversary of the final passing away (Parinibbāna) of several early members of the Bhikkhunī Saṅgha. Writing on this can be found on dhammadharini.net here.

You are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.
