Transitions at Santi

As mentioned in a previous post, Ayya Jitindriyā and Venerable Jayasāra have been slowly making arrangements for their move to a small hermitage on the South Coast, while ensuring the smooth transition of responsibilities and management of Santi to the new resident nuns from Dhammasāra.

Venerable Kārunika, Venerable Anālaya, and Venerable Acalā have settled in happily and are now familiar with everything Santi, so are more than ready to take up the reins fully. They are also ably supported here by Anagarika Chathu and Aunty Sudharma. So, on the eve of the vassa this week, we (Ayyas Jitindriyā and Jayasāra) will say our goodbyes, and head out to start the traditional rains retreat in Viveka Hermitage.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the kindness, support and generosity you have offered over our four years of residence at Santi Monastery. We have learned so much and benefited immensely from our time here — in both managing the monastery and having the opportunity for deeper Dhamma practice — and have enjoyed meeting so many wonderful and dedicated practitioners in all of you.

We depart with a sense of confidence and joy that Santi is in very capable hands and will continue to flourish as a place for the growing nuns’ community in Australia. If you wish to stay in touch with us, feel free to write to: vivekahermitage[at]gmail.com

May the Triple Gem bless and protect you all, and may your paths quickly come to fruition in the full realisation of ultimate Truth (Dhamma).

With metta, Ayya Jitindriyā and Venerable Jayasāra
