This Vesak, take the rare opportunity to offer the four requisites to a community of fully ordained nuns.
Join us on parade to the big cave culminating in the offering of lights, a special blessing ceremony and a Dhamma talk.
As renunciants, monastics depend entirely on the generosity of the lay community for their most basic needs – alms bowl, robes, alms food, dwellings, and medicines. This is your chance to make merit by making these offerings to the nuns’ community at Santi. Anyone who wishes to offer these requisites can get them from the stalls at the monastery for a donation.
This year you are welcome to offer dry rations, instead of rice, to the nuns as they walk on alms. Gift bags pre-packed with dry rations useful for the monastery will be available at the stalls for a donation. All donations are to support the growth of Santi nuns’ community.
You are welcome to bring some food for the midday shared meal and you can also enjoy yummy treats available at the food stalls.
Our Vesak celebration will close with a parade lead by traditional drummers to the Big Cave, where there will be a spectacular offering of lights, blessing chants, and a Dhamma talk.
Wear any colour of the Buddhist Flag to join the festive spirit!
What to bring: Your own drinking water bottle, good walking shoes, hat & if you wish you can bring some food for the shared meal.
